Our only snow trip this year, but it was a good one. Golfing 2007. Our second annual outing. Canoe 2006. Our annual fall trip for canoeing on the Tuolumne River. 50 Miler 2006. This was an exciting trip. Every day was a new adventure. We had rain, hail, fire, and a bear to mention but a few. Pinecrest Lake 2006. As always, the focus on this trip is hiking. La Grange Trip. Our 19-23 April 2006 training trip was near La Grange. On this site are the remains of a repair shop, offices, and bunk houses that were in use when the Tuolumne River was being dredged for gold. Snow Training Trip February 2006. AND, here is a short video! Golfing January 2006 Christmas Tree Lot 2005. So far, mostly photos of the set up. Stay tuned, I'll add more later. Tuolumne River Canoe Trip 2005. It was late October and a few salmon were making their way upstream while we headed the other direction. In perfect fall weather we canoed on both Saturday and Sunday. One wet scoutmaster was given the nickname "Splash." 50 Miler 2005. Our trip was in early July, a few weeks later than normal but there was plenty of water anyway. It was a wet, snowy winter. There was no shortage of mosquitoes either, but it was a great trip. If you want to experience more of the scenery, check out the 50 Miler nature photos. Only about 15% of the available photos are posted here. Disks with all the high-resolution photos are available to borrow. June Training Trip 2005. Our last trip before the 50 miler. It started out cold. Saturday morning we woke to a world covered in frost. The breeze made for chilly canoeing. The weather slowly cleared and warmed, and by Sunday PM it was very pleasant. Memorial Day 2005. Troop 505 remembers and pays respect. Pinecrest Lake 2005. Our first backpacking trip of the season. We hiked in Friday night and slept under the stars. Another hike Saturday, much of it through difficult terrain, brought us to another camp site. The songs and skits at the campfire Saturday night were a lot of fun. And on Sunday, another hike took us back to the cars. Spring Training Trip April 2005. On this trip, the scouts learned shelter building, fire building, how to operate a stove, knife & axe skills, camp hygiene, cooking, and map & compass. USS Hornet Our drill team was invited to retire a worn flag and raise a new flag on the USS Hornet, which is moored at Alameda Point on San Francisco Bay (www.uss-hornet.org).
